Göynük is a town located in the Bolu Province within the Black Sea region of Turkey. It serves as the administrative seat of the Göynük District. As of 2021, the town has a population of 4,376 residents.
The town is bordered by several neighboring districts, including Mudurnu to the north-east, Nallıhan to the south-east, Sarıcakaya to the south, Yenipazar to the south-west, Taraklı to the west, and Akyazı to the north-west. The current mayor of Göynük is Ahmet Çankaya, who was elected in 2019.
