Gömeç is a municipality and district located in the Balıkesir Province of Turkey. It covers a total area of 171 km2 and had a recorded population of 16,880 as of 2022.
The district was formerly known as Armutova before it was established as a municipality. Notable historical features within the region include the ancient city of Kisthene, which is situated in Gömeç.
