Aydın is a city in Turkey that serves as the seat of Aydın Province within the Aegean Region. It is situated at the heart of the lower valley of the Büyük Menderes River, occupying a commanding position that extends from the valley's uplands down to the seacoast.
The city constitutes the urban center of the Efeler district and had a population of 259,027 in 2022. The surrounding region has been recognized for its fertility and productivity since ancient times.
