Şavşat is a town located in the Artvin Province within the Black Sea region of northeastern Turkey. Situated at the far eastern end of the country along the border with Georgia, it lies geographically between the cities of Artvin and Kars.
The town serves as the administrative seat of the Şavşat District. As of 2021, the population of the area was recorded at 6,048 residents.
