Doğubayazıt is a town located in the Ağrı Province of eastern Turkey, situated near the border with Iran. Situated at an elevation of 1,625 meters, it serves as the administrative seat of the Doğubayazıt District. As of 2021, the town has a recorded population of 80,061.

The town is also known by the name Kurdava and holds historical significance as the former capital of the self-declared Republic of Ararat, which was a short-lived Kurdish state centered in the Ağrı Province. Demographic research indicates that Doğubayazıt is predominantly Kurdish-speaking; studies have identified it as an area with high concentrations of Kurdish speakers, noting that Kurdish is the mother tongue for the majority of the population.
