Samsat, historically known as Samosata, is a small town located in the Adıyaman Province of Turkey. It serves as the administrative seat of the Samsat District and is situated on the banks of the upper Euphrates River.
The town is primarily inhabited by Kurds belonging to the Bêzikan tribe. While it remains a small settlement, its geographical position along the river defines its location within the region.
