Maliana is a city located in Timor-Leste, situated approximately 149 kilometers southwest of the national capital, Dili. It serves as the administrative center for both the Bobonaro district and the Maliana subdistrict. The city has a population of 22,000 residents.
Geographically, Maliana is positioned just a few kilometers from the border with Indonesia. It also functions as the see city of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maliana. This diocese was established by Pope Benedict XVI using territory previously belonging to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dili.
