Bazartete is a village situated in the country of Timor-Leste. It serves as a subdistrict within the Liquiçá District, positioned on a mountaintop in a rain forest area southeast of the Liquiçá township.
The village has a population of 20,190 people. Historically, Bazartete and its surrounding villages were the site of numerous instances of intimidation, rape, and murder committed by members of the Besi Merah Putih militia group during and following the autonomy vote of 1999.
