Kulob, also known as Khatlon, is a major city located in the Khatlon Region of southern Tajikistan. It is situated on the Yakhsu River, approximately 203 kilometers (126 miles) southeast of the national capital, Dushanbe.
As one of the largest cities in Tajikistan, Kulob has an estimated population of 106,300 for the city proper and 214,700 when including outlying communities as of 2020. The city is served by its own dedicated airport, Kulob Airport.
