Mukdahan is a town and the capital of Mukdahan Province, located in the northeastern region of Thailand. It was established as Thailand's 73rd province in 1982 after formerly serving as a district of Nakhon Phanom Province. The city is situated on the west bank of the Mekong River.
Located approximately 645 km northeast of Bangkok, Mukdahan serves as a regional hub with a municipal population that was recorded at 180,600 in 2010.
