Chai Wan is an area located at the east end of the urban area of Hong Kong Island, situated adjacent to Shau Kei Wan. It is administratively part of the Eastern District and was formerly known as Sai Wan.
The region is characterized by a mosaic of industrial and residential areas. As of the 2001 census, the population of Chai Wan was recorded at 186,505.
