Nakhon Phanom is a town located in northeastern Thailand and serves as the capital of Nakhon Phanom Province. It is situated approximately 736 kilometres (457 mi) northeast of the nation's capital, Bangkok.
The town encompasses the tambons of Nai Mueang and Nong Saeng, along with portions of the At Samat and Nong Yat tambons within the Mueang Nakhon Phanom District. As of 2006, the population of the town was recorded at 27,591.
