Yasothon is a town located in the north-eastern region of Thailand on the banks of the Chi River. Situated approximately 531 km (330 mi) north-east of the capital city, Bangkok, it serves as the administrative center and capital of Yasothon province.
The town functions as the seat of its own city district. Within this district, the subdistrict of Nai Mueang encompasses the boundaries of the town proper, which recorded a population of 21,134 in 2005.
