Ranong is a town located in southern Thailand and serves as the capital of both the Ranong Province and the Mueang Ranong District. The town occupies the entire area of the tambon Khao Niwet. It is situated approximately 586 kilometres (364 mi) south-southwest of Bangkok by road.
As of 2024, the population of Ranong was recorded at 16,909 residents.
