Chumphon is a town located in southern Thailand. It serves as the capital of both Chumphon Province and Mueang Chumphon District. The city is situated approximately 463 kilometers away from the nation's capital, Bangkok.
As of 2018, the population of the town was around 33,600 residents. Geographically, it covers the entirety of the Tha Taphao commune and portions of the Bang Mak, Wang Phai, Na Thung, Tak Daet, and Khun Krathing communes. The primary economic activity in Chumphon is agriculture.
