Samut Prakan, officially known as the City of Samut Prakan, serves as the capital of Samut Prakan province in Thailand. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Bangkok.
The city was established in 1999. It remains a significant administrative and geographical location within the region surrounding the Thai capital.
