Narathiwat

Narathiwat is a town located in southern Thailand and serves as the capital of Narathiwat Province. Situated in the Mueang Narathiwat District, the town was established in 1936 and lies approximately 1,141 km south of Bangkok.

As of 2008, the population of the town was recorded at 40,521. It remains a primary administrative center for its surrounding province in the southern region of the country.
