Nakhon Ratchasima is the capital of Nakhon Ratchasima province and serves as the largest city in Northeastern Thailand. Located approximately 250 kilometres (160 mi) northeast of Bangkok, it ranks as the third-largest city in the country. The city is frequently referred to by its shortened name, Korat.
As one of the four major cities of Isan, known collectively as the "big four of Isan," Nakhon Ratchasima has a population of 466,098 people as of 2021. It serves as a primary urban center in the northeastern region of Thailand.
