Lamphun is a town located in northern Thailand and serves as the capital of Lamphun province. It encompasses the entirety of tambon Nai Mueang within the Mueang Lamphun district.
The city is situated approximately 665 km (413 mi) north of Bangkok and 19 km (12 mi) south of Chiang Mai. As of 2006, the population of Lamphun was recorded at 14,030.
