Massenya is a small town situated in the central-western region of Chad. It serves as the administrative capital for both the Chari-Baguirmi province and the department of Baguirmi.
Founded during the first half of the 16th century, the town holds significant historical importance as the former capital of the Kingdom of Baguirmi. It also served as the traditional seat of the Mbang, who held the title of Sultan.
