Sahnaya is a town located in southern Syria within the Rif Dimashq Governorate. It is situated southwest of Damascus in the western Ghouta region. The town serves as the administrative center of the Sahnaya nahiyah, which encompasses two towns with a combined population of 44,512.
According to the 2004 census by the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics, Sahnaya had a population of 13,993. It is notable as one of the few towns in the Ghouta with a majority Druze community, alongside nearby localities such as Jaramana, Ashrafiyat Sahnaya, and Deir Ali.
