Qatana

Syria

Qatana is a city located in southern Syria within the Rif Dimashq Governorate. It serves as the administrative center of the Qatana Subdistrict, which encompasses 19 localities. The city sits at an altitude of 879 meters above sea level.

According to the 2004 census conducted by the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of Qatana was 33,996. The local population reflects the general religious diversity of Syria; it is primarily composed of Sunni Muslims, with minority groups including Greek Orthodox Christians, Assyrians, Druze, and Alawites.
