Mayadin is a town located in eastern Syria. It serves as the capital of the Mayadin District within the Deir ez-Zor Governorate, situated approximately 44 kilometers southeast of the city of Deir ez-Zor.
The town is notable for being situated along the Euphrates River. According to the 2004 census, Mayadin had a population of 44,028 residents, making it the second most populous town in its governorate.
