Shahba is a city located in the Jabal al-Druze region of Syria's Suwayda Governorate. It is situated approximately 87 km south of Damascus and was historically part of the Roman province of Arabia Petraea.
Known in Late Antiquity as Philippopolis, the city served as the seat of a Bishopric that remains a Latin titular see today. The local population, recorded at 13,660 in the 2004 census, is predominantly Druze, with minorities consisting of Christians and Sunni Muslim Bedouins.
