Jableh is a coastal city located in Syria along the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated approximately 25 km (16 mi) north of Baniyas and 25 km (16 mi) south of Latakia, with an estimated population of around 80,000 inhabitants.
Historically known as Ancient Gabala, the city served as a Byzantine archbishopric and continues to be recognized as a Latin Catholic titular see. A notable landmark within the city is the tomb and mosque of Ibrahim Bin Adham, a legendary Sufi mystic who famously renounced his throne in Balkh to devote his life to prayer.
