Apopa is a municipality located in the San Salvador department of El Salvador. It serves as one of the country's significant urban centers, ranking as approximately the seventh largest city in El Salvador with a population exceeding 150,000 residents.
The city has expanded to the point of merging with the neighboring municipalities of Soyapango and San Salvador. As a result of this expansion, Apopa is now an integral part of the larger San Salvador metropolitan area.
