Pelelu Tepu is an Amerindian village situated in the hinterland of Suriname. Located on Tepu hill along the Tapanahoni River, the settlement is also known as Pe'reru Tepu. The name "Tepu" translates to "high" in the Indian Tiriyó language.
The village was founded by Christian missionaries and primarily inhabited by Tiriyó Indians, though it currently includes small numbers of Wayana and Akuriyo Indians. It maintains a tribal organization that is led by a Trio Captain.
