Hafun is a coastal town located in the northeastern Bari province of Somalia. Situated on Ras Hafun along the coast of the Guardafui Channel, it serves as the administrative center of the Hafun District and holds the distinction of being the easternmost town in continental Africa.
The settlement is an ancient site that was previously known by the name Opone. It remains a significant geographical point on the Somali coastline due to its historical origins and its position at the edge of the continent.
