Hargeisa is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Somaliland, a partially recognized sovereign state located in the Horn of Africa. While it is internationally considered to be part of Somalia, it serves as the primary urban center for the region.
The city also functions as the regional capital of the Maroodi Jeex region. It remains a central hub for the surrounding area within the Somaliland territory.
