Yonibana is a small rural town located in the Tonkolili District of Sierra Leone's Northern Province. It serves as the administrative center of the Yoni Chiefdom. The town is situated approximately 28.2 miles from the district capital, Magburaka, and roughly 90 miles northeast of the national capital, Freetown.
The population of Yonibana is primarily composed of the Temne ethnic group, with a small minority of Fula residents. In terms of linguistics, both the Temne and Krio languages are widely spoken throughout the town.
