Trnava is a city located in western Slovakia, situated on the Trnávka river approximately 47 km (29 mi) northeast of Bratislava. It serves as the administrative capital for both the Trnava Region and the Trnava District.
The city features a historic center and is notably recognized as the seat of a Roman Catholic archbishopric. Due to the high concentration of churches located within its city walls, Trnava has historically been referred to as "Little Rome" and more recently as the "Slovak Rome."
