Zgornja Brežnica is a settlement located in northeastern Slovenia within the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica. Geographically, it sits along the primary regional road connecting the towns of Slovenska Bistrica and Poljčane.
The area is situated within the traditional region of Styria. Administratively, Zgornja Brežnica is currently included in the Drava Statistical Region alongside the rest of its municipality.
