Prevalje is a town located in northern Slovenia and serves as the seat of the Municipality of Prevalje. It is situated within the traditional Slovenian province of Carinthia.
The town is positioned in a valley where the Meža River emerges from a narrow gorge characterized by fluvioglacial sediments. Geographically, it is bounded by the Strojna, Stražišče, and Dolga Brda hills to the north, while Navrski vrh and Riflov vrh lie to the south.
