Bistrica ob Sotli is a settlement located in eastern Slovenia. It serves as the administrative seat of the Municipality of Bistrica ob Sotli. Geographically, the settlement is situated on a river terrace positioned above the right bank of the Sotla River.
Historically, the area belonged to the region of Styria. In terms of modern administration, it is currently included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region, having been part of the Savinja Statistical Region until January 2014. The settlement also encompasses the hamlets of Čehovec, Koče, and Marof.
