Vuzenica is a major settlement located in northern Slovenia. It serves as the administrative seat of the Municipality of Vuzenica and is situated on the right bank of the Drava River, extending southward into the Pohorje Hills.
The municipality is part of the Carinthia Statistical Region, which lies within the Slovenian portion of the historical Duchy of Styria. Historically, the area was home to Saldenhofen Castle, which served as the seat of the imperial or ducal burgraves of Saldenhofen during the Middle Ages.
