Krško is a town located in eastern Slovenia. It serves as the seat of the City Municipality of Krško and is situated on the banks of the Sava River.
Geographically, the town lies on the northwest edge of the Krško Plain, which forms part of the larger Krka Flat. The area is historically divided between the traditional regions of Styria and Lower Carniola, while the entire municipality is currently included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.
