Gornja Radgona

Slovenia

Gornja Radgona is a town located in Slovenia that serves as the seat of the Municipality of Gornja Radgona. Historically, it functioned as a defensive stronghold for its regional center and its twin city, Bad Radkersburg, which is situated on the opposite side of the Mura River in Austria.

The two towns were separated in 1919 following the division of the state of Styria between Austria and Slovenia. Since this separation, the locations have developed independently, with Gornja Radgona evolving into a new town center.
