Črnomelj is a town located in southeastern Slovenia. It serves as the administrative seat of the Municipality of Črnomelj and is situated on the left bank of the Lahinja and Dobličica rivers.
The municipality is positioned at the heart of White Carniola, which constitutes the southeastern portion of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. Geographically, it is currently included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The area encompasses several hamlets, including Čardak, Kočevje, Kozji Plac, Loka, and Nova Loka.
