Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, locally referred to as The Village, is a small settlement located on the remote island of Tristan da Cunha. It serves as the only inhabited area on the island and is situated within the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic Ocean.
The village is recognized as one of the most remote permanent settlements in the world due to its isolated geographic position. It lies approximately 2,434 kilometres (1,512 mi) away from Jamestown on St. Helena, which is the nearest neighboring settlement.
