The area is bordered by several prominent landmarks and neighborhoods. Tanglin is positioned west of Newton, Orchard, River Valley, and the Singapore River, while lying south of Novena. It is further bounded by Bukit Timah to the east, Queenstown to the northeast, and Bukit Merah to the north.
