Senja is an island located in Senja Municipality within Troms county, Norway, in northern Europe. Covering an area of 1,586.3 square kilometres (612.5 sq mi), it is the second largest island in Norway. The island's geography is characterized by a wild, mountainous western side facing the Atlantic Ocean and a mild, lush eastern side.

As of January 1, 2017, the island had a population of 7,864 inhabitants, with most residents living along the eastern coast. Silsand serves as the largest urban area on the island. On the west coast, the fishing village of Gryllefjord maintains a seasonal ferry connection to the nearby island of Andøya during the summer months.
