Trollhättan is a city in Sweden and serves as the seat of Trollhättan Municipality within Västra Götaland County. It is ranked as the 23rd-largest city in the country, with a population of approximately 50,000 in the city proper.
The city is situated along the Göta älv river near Lake Vänern. Geographically, it is located roughly 75 km (46 mi) north of Gothenburg, which is Sweden's second-largest city.
