Kungälv is a city located in Sweden and serves as the seat of Kungälv Municipality within Västra Götaland County. It is situated as part of the Greater Gothenburg Metropolitan Area.
As of 2010, the city had a population of 22,768 inhabitants. By 2021, the combined population of the main Kungälv - Ytterby - Kareby conurbation reached nearly 30,000 people.
