Henan is a province located in Central China. It is the country's third-most populous province and holds the distinction of being the most populous inland province, with a population exceeding 99 million as of 2020.
Historically known as the Central Plains (Zhongyuan), Henan is considered the core region of Chinese cultural history. The province contains four of China's historical capitals: Luoyang, Anyang, Kaifeng, and Zhengzhou. While it is a central cultural hub, people from Henan have sometimes faced discrimination within China.
