Helsingborg is a city located in the province of Scania (Skåne) in southern Sweden. It serves as the seat of Helsingborg Municipality and ranks as the second-largest city in Scania and the ninth-largest city in Sweden, with a population of 151,404 as of 2024.
The city functions as the central urban area of northwestern Scania. It is notable for being Sweden's closest point to Denmark; from Helsingborg, the Danish city of Helsingør is clearly visible across the Øresund strait, situated approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) to the west.
