Nacka

Sweden

Nacka is a city located in Sweden that serves as the municipal seat of Nacka Municipality. It is situated within the Stockholm urban area.

The name of the municipality originates from a 16th-century industrial operation established by the Crown at the Nacka farmstead, which was selected for its favorable conditions for water mills. Notably, while the original site of this industrial activity is not densely populated today, the current municipal seat is located on land that formerly belonged to the Järla farmstead across Lake Järla.
