Åsele is a locality situated in the Västerbotten County of Lapland, Sweden. It serves as the administrative seat of Åsele Municipality and is located at an elevation of 313 meters (1,027 feet) above sea level.
As of the 2010 census, the locality had a recorded population of 1,798 residents. It remains a primary hub for its surrounding municipality within the northern region of the country.
