Årjäng is a locality and the seat of Årjäng Municipality in Värmland County, Sweden. As of 2010, the population of the area was recorded at 3,228 inhabitants. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres from the border between Norway and Sweden and lies along the main road connecting Karlstad and Oslo.
The name Årjäng originated as Argenge in 1540. Etymologically, the first part of the name derives from the Old Swedish genitive case for "river," referring specifically to the Silbodal river, while the second morpheme refers to a crossing over that river.
