Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located in the province of Lapland. It serves as the seat of Kiruna Municipality within Norrbotten County.
The city was originally established in the 1890s to support the operations of the Kiruna mine. As of 2016, the municipality had a population of 17,002 inhabitants.
