Jokkmokk is a locality and the seat of Jokkmokk Municipality located in Norrbotten County within the province of Lapland, Sweden. Situated just north of the Arctic Circle, the settlement had a population of 2,786 inhabitants as of 2010.
The name Jokkmokk is derived from the Lule Sámi language and translates to "River's Curve," referring to the meandering river that flows through the area. While Swedish is the dominant official language in modern times, the town is characterized by its northern geography and the presence of Talvatissjön at its southern end.
